  1. Mission Bay Sports Center

As its name suggests, it is based around Mission Bay. It has two centers. It is one of the most popular jet ski rentals in San Diego. Before you blast through the water on one of their jet skis, you will have to watch a pre-launch safety video, and the staff will also provide you with an orientation so you can dash over the water confidently. Their rates for renting a jet ski are as follows:

  • 1 hour: $105
  • 2 hours: $200
  • 3 hours: $295
  • 4 hours: $375
  • All day: $500

It is to be noted that their jet skis can accommodate two people. If you are a group of more than two, then you will have to rent more jet skis, and the rental fees will increase accordingly. The Mission Bay Sports Center also provides a jet ski tour of the San Diego Coastline. You can join the tour that starts from Mission Bay and ends at San Diego Harbor or vice versa. A tour guide will lead you, and if you are lucky enough, you will be able to catch glimpses of dolphins, seals, and some birds. The price of this tour isn’t revealed on their website, so you will have to contact the rental company to find out.

It has the lowest starting rate for renting a jet ski. An important point to note is that these jet skis are available on weekdays. 1. Do the jet ski rental companies provide us with life jackets?

Yes, you are required by law to wear a coast guard approved life jacket so you will be safe even if you fall off your jet ski. The life jacket helps you stay afloat. But ensure that the jet ski that the rental company provides has a safety lanyard as it would make the key fall off the ignition and ensure that the jet ski stops if you fall down.’

  1. When is a good time for jet skiing in San Diego?

The beaches in the city are crowded during the weekends. So it is better to visit the beaches in San Diego during the weekdays. Then there is also a higher chance of you getting a hand on a jet ski without waiting for long. And season-wise, it is better to visit the beaches for jet skiing during the summer. It is the perfect way to beat the summer heat. The water becomes too cold during other seasons though the sun stays warm.
